Terms of Use
Status: Draft for board review. Last reviewed: 7 August 2026.
These terms govern your use of fishcreekwater.co and the members area on it. Using the site means you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
1. What this site is
An information and administration site for Fish Creek Water Co-op Ltd., a co-operative incorporated in Alberta and working towards treated rural water service in northwest Foothills County. It is not a utility account portal, it does not take payments, and nothing on it is an offer of water service. See the Disclaimer for what the project information does and does not promise.
2. Membership applications
The application form on this site submits a real request to the board. It is a request only:
- Submitting it does not make you a member. The board approves membership.
- It does not reserve capacity, a service route, a connection date or a price.
- It does not oblige the co-op to serve your property, and it does not oblige you to take service.
Membership is governed by the Bylaws and Charter, not by this page.
3. Accuracy of what you tell us
Give us accurate information and keep it current, particularly your service address and how to reach you. Notice of a general meeting goes to the address on the roll, and a member who misses a vote because their address was stale has no remedy against the co-op.
4. Your members area account
If you hold an account:
- It is yours alone. Do not share it, and do not let another person use it.
- Choose a password you use nowhere else, and tell us at once if you think somebody else has it.
- What you do while signed in is attributed to you. Sensitive actions are logged.
- The board may suspend an account for misuse, for a security concern, or when membership ends.
Some material in the members area is restricted to directors. Do not attempt to reach it by another route, and do not republish restricted material.
5. Acceptable use
Do not:
- Attempt to gain access to any account, record or system you are not entitled to.
- Probe, scan or test the site's security, or interfere with its operation.
- Scrape the site, or collect members' personal information from it.
- Submit anything false, unlawful, defamatory or infringing, or upload a file containing malware.
- Use anything found here to send unsolicited commercial messages.
6. Content you contribute
Members with the right permission can write wiki pages, upload documents and answer surveys. What you contribute stays yours, and by contributing it you give the co-op a non-exclusive, royalty free licence to store it, show it to the people entitled to see it, and use it in the co-op's records and communications. Do not upload anything you do not have the right to share. The board may edit or remove any contribution.
7. The co-op's material
The text, images, maps, logo and layout of this site belong to the co-op or to its licensors. Members may print and copy material for co-op purposes. Anything else, in particular republishing or commercial use, needs written permission.
8. Links out
Links to other sites (the county, funding bodies, suppliers) are given for convenience. We do not control them and we are not responsible for what is on them.
9. Availability
The site is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be available without interruption or free of errors, and we may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it without notice.
10. Limits
To the fullest extent the law allows, the co-op and its directors, officers and volunteers are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of this site, or from reliance on anything published on it. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
11. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and the laws of Canada that apply in Alberta. The courts of Alberta have jurisdiction.
12. Changes
We may revise these terms. The version on this page is the one in force, and its last review date is at the top.
